+1. What is the application process like for studying medicine, dentistry and/or veterinary medicine in European Medical Universities?
Once you complete our simple online application form, we will contact you to provide us with the admission documents for submission to our Partner Medical University before we send you the final acceptance document. If there is an entrance test requirement, we will make arrangements for this to take place either at the capital of your country or at the Medical University you have applied for.
+2. What are the academic requirements for studying medicine, dentistry and/or veterinary medicine in the UK and Europe (Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria)?
The academic requirements of European Medical Universities vary, but all Universities require that all candidates have completed their secondary education and be fluent in English.
+3. If I have low marks in my secondary school certificate, can I still be accepted to a Medical University in Europe?

The official deadline for applying to a Medical University in Europe (Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria) is usually six months before the start date of one of the 4 intakes our Partner Universities offer, but we are continuously updated by all Partner Medical Universities we represent with any free positions that might turn up at the last minute, so you should always consult with us regardless of the date. Of course, applying early is always best.
+5. Can you put into motion my application process in case I am missing any admission documents that will take time for me to get?
Yes, we can still start your application in order to reserve your place at our Partner Medical Universities before we submit the remaining necessary admission documents, although acceptance will likely be provisional until we have these documents.
+6. Can I apply for medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine for any of the 4 intakes of a European Medical University?
Yes, you can as there is no difference at all between the 4 admission periods and the programmes they accept students for, besides programme start date (curriculum, entrance requirements, exams, etc).
+7. Will I need to take an entrance exam to secure a place at a European Medical University?
Almost all the Medical Universities we represent do not have an entrance test. Be it with or without entrance exams from our partner University list, we will help you achieve your goals all the way, as we offer preparatory material and notes for all such prerequisite entrance exams.
+8. What is the minimum level of English proficiency required for students whose first language is not English?
The minimum required level of competency in English is B1 or B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, depending on the Medical University you wish to apply to, and you should have received assessment by a recognised English test centre or English Language Assessment Organisation, otherwise you must take an English test organized by the respective University.
+9. Is there any age restriction for applicants to European University Medical Schools?
In all countries, there are no age restrictions and anyone can apply to study medicine, dentistry or veterinary. The only exception is Armenia where the applicant must be under the age of 28.
Transfers
+1. Can I transfer from my current Medical University into a senior year of medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine taught programme at European Medical University?
Yes, in the beginning you will first need to submit your transcripts and course description from your present Medical University for assessment. The European school registrar in conjunction with Study Medicine Europe will determine your level and year of studies by comparing it to their own equivalent programme as well as calculate the courses that you must complete in order to graduate. Study Medicine Europe has successfully completed numerous transfers and is the only student recruiter that can request from our Partner Universities the result of the assessment before the official application process has even started due to our affiliation. Transfers are offered in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary.
Graduate Entry
+1. If I have completed a Degree in a relevant science or discipline (Biology, Nursing, Psychology, etc.), will I be able to enter a European medical school in a later year of studies?
Graduate entry is offered to Bachelor’s degree graduates. Candidates can do a 4 year course if they hold a science-related degree or a 5 year course if they hold a non-Science degree. Graduate Entry courses are offered in Medicine or Dentistry. Please note that graduate entry is currently only available to students applying to Georgian medical universities. Our team can also help candidates secure a spot in a graduate entry medicine course that takes place in the UK.
Costs & Fees
+1. What are the tuition fees for studying medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine at Armenian, Georgian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Romanian or Bulgarian Universities?
The tuition fees of Armenian, Georgian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Romanian or Bulgarian Universities are the lowest, not only in Europe, but in the world. The annual tuition fees for undergraduate studies in medicine and dentistry range between $3,000 to €8,000 and in veterinary medicine they start from €4,000. Annual tuition fees for Postgraduate studies (medical specialization/specialty) are between $3,000 and $5,000 depending on the taught programme of your choice.
+2. What is the cost of living in Armenian, Georgian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Romanian or Bulgarian?
While these countries have strong economies, the wages are much lower compared to the rest of Europe. For example, when compared to life in London, life in Armenia is extremely cheap. However, this doesn’t mean that there is any difference at all in services or the quality of education; quite the contrary. Specifically, the cost of living in Armenia, Georgia, Serbia, Ukraine, Romania or Bulgaria is about 1/3 that of that in Western European countries. The average monthly cost of living, including rent in private accommodation, utility bills, internet access, cable TV, food, books, travel and spending, amounts to approximately £300.
+3. Should the annual tuition fees be paid upfront or in installments?
Usually, you can pay the tuition fees in 2 or 4 installments throughout the year depending on the University, or upfront should you desire to do so.
+4. Are the annual tuition fees subject to changes during all the year of studies?
Although tuition fees might slightly change from year to year, the fees quoted at the beginning of programme in the academic calendar will remain the same for the whole duration of your program.
+5. Will I get refunded if I fail to enter the University?

Students should contact their local Ministry of Education to explore any options on funding. While no scholarships or grants are currently available, our team are always looking for new funding options for international students.

Studying
+1. How long is the program of medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine at European University Medical Schools?
In all countries the program of Medicine lasts for 5 or 6 years, Dentistry for 5 or 6 years and Veterinary Medicine for 5.5 years. All programs include required pre-clinical and clinical years or practical training along with mandatory internship work during your last year of studies. After completing the program, students have to sit for the license exam in order to be awarded their Degree and be eligible to attend their graduation ceremony.
+2. What is the number of students in each class at European Medical Universities (student-teacher ratio)?
Every year, these Medical Universities accept between 100 and 300 students in each program, depending on class capacity. However, lectures take place in smaller groups of students (5-10) depending on the nature and the requirements of each course.
+3. Will the University courses in Medicine, Dentistry of Veterinary medicine be taught in English?
Courses are taught in English; however, students must gain basic knowledge of the local language as part of the university program in order to be capable to interact with patients of the University hospital from their 3rd year of studies onwards.
+4. Do Medical Universities in Europe (Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria) use the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and if yes, how many credits should I have in order to complete my studies in medicine, dentistry or in veterinary medicine?
All European Medical Universities use the ECTS. Each student needs to have 60-75 credits in each academic year or a total of 360 credits from all 5 or 6 years of studies in order to graduate with a degree of Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary medicine.
+5. How many months should I spend studying abroad?
It is very common for most students to spend at least 8 months studying abroad and return back to their home for Christmas, Easter and during summer. Others stay along and enjoy life abroad or work in an internship or as part of a co-op programme which we help find for them, for additional experience. It’s up to you.

They are listed on the WHO (World Health Organization) directory of international medical schools and are on the IMED (International Medical Education Directory) public database of worldwide medical schools.
