Students enrolled in both state and private (with state accreditation) universities of Armenia can apply for a student loan to cover their tuition fees, which is one of the ways of social support for young people, who seek higher education.

Under the government program, students aged 16-30 may receive loans for each year of studying (for bachelor or master courses for a maximum of 10 years) with low interest rates.

The necessary documents that should be submitted are the following: a reference from the university indicating student’s faculty, year and the amount of fee for academic year, bank account number of the university and the student graduation year and month.

Loan granting requires a guarantee of a student's parent or guardian and usually the decision takes a couple of days. No commission is charged for loan servicing. The loan provision method is in noncash and loan amount is directly transferred to the education institution.

Note that all student loans are given in Armenian national currency which is Armenian Dram (AMD). During the education students student make only interest repayments after graduating from the student begins to loan repayment with equal monthly payments.
