  • The 6-Year Undergraduate Medicine Programme at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is open to applicants from all over the world.
  • Aristotle University of Thessaloniki graduates hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) qualification and complete 83 study modules (76 courses and 7 clinical traineeship courses).
  • Applicants are required to sit Biology and Chemistry exams as well as a General Knowledge test.
  • The programme begins in October and there are two 15-week semesters per year (Winter and Spring).
  • Students study three cycles of modules: pre-clinical courses for two years, clinical rotations and courses for three years, and clinical training for one year.
  • For the pre-clinical modules, students study with professors and researchers and complete lectures, seminars and laboratories.
  • Clinical modules are completed on-campus at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki hospital and city hospitals with lectures aligned with the clinical rotations.
  • In the final year, students train intensively with clinical professors in hospitals and medical facilities.
  • The undergraduate degree is in accordance with the EU Directive 2005/36/E and graduates have an EU and international medical license.

  • Study Medicine Europe (SME) offers the international clinical rotations opportunity for medicine students enrolled in Europe to undertake up to three years of training in the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA and Australia.
  • Following application to SME, students are matched to clinical rotations in line with their medicine curriculum modules in professional hospitals and medical facilities.
  • To apply, students submit the following to SME:
    • Their professional CV and clinical placement preferences including the location, department and duration of rotation.
    • An official authorisation of their application from the university Professor Coordinator of their medicine programme.
  • SME offers places in order of application based on the preferences of the student and ability to match their criteria to the rotations available.

Applicants must provide the following information:

  1. An application which includes the following details: bio, education history and course for which you are applying.
  2. A copy of your secondary education results with subjects studied.
  3. Personal statement or results of Cambridge Personal Style Questionnaire (CPSQ)
  4. Interview
  5. Documents from your home country confirming that you are authorised to study in Greece.
  6. Two small photos of 4-5cm.

All documents need to be translated into Greek to satisfy state directives.
