Ukraine is a place where studying goes beyond the classroom. Enjoy your multicultural life and get new experiences every day! By choosing to study medicine in Ukraine, you can learn from the best specialists and prosper as a globally in-demand professional. The life of a medical student in Ukraine does not differ a lot from that in other European countries. Students study, meet new people, hang out, learn new things, travel around Europe etc.

Did you know that Ukraine has Europe’s largest international student population? In the mid-1990s, there was just 5,000, international students in Ukraine. Recent figures reveal that there are now nearly 20,000 students from all over the world who have chosen to broaden their education and life experience in Ukraine. Nearly 8% of all students enrolled in higher-level education are international students, and the numbers are growing.

Ukrainian medical university campuses have all the facilities for a safe and comfortable stay. Universities provide students with books and relevant studying materials. Libraries with computer rooms are also available. Almost every university has sports teams, which compete in various disciplines with their peers from other institutions. The most popular sport is without a doubt football. Many students are also involved in the K.V.N. games (a humorous contest between faculties across universities). Participating in this kind of activity usually takes a lot of time, but if your team performs well, the university administration will offer you some flexibility in attendance.

Studies usually take 80% – 85% of the students’ time. The rest is spent on fun social. If you are a “social butterfly”, we advise going for a university in a bigger city that has lots of bars, nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, shopping malls, etc. Those who want to study while also exploring the country’s unique culture and traditions should apply to a university in Kyiv which is one of the oldest cities in the country. Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine; it is a centre of economic, political and cultural development. Students who come to study in Ukraine and settle down have the best job prospects among all.

In conclusion, the student life is active both in terms of the academic part and the fun part. All medical universities have Student Councils and Student Scientific Councils, which organise numerous student conferences and events.
