+ What is the 5-Year Undergraduate Dentistry Course?
  • ZSMU’s internationally-recognised undergraduate dentistry programme is 5 years in duration and is fully taught through the English language.
  • The course aims to give students a comprehensive knowledge of the basic subjects of a medical and biological profile, as well as various clinical disciplines.
  • With an average class size of just ten, dentistry students at ZSMU can be sure they will receive as much individual attention as they need to succeed.
  • Initially, students get a good grounding in theoretical disciplines. From the fourth year onwards, emphasis is placed on clinical disciplines.
+ Is Online Study Offered?
  • Dentistry courses are not permitted to be taught online; this is in accordance with Paragraph 3 of Order, No 1541 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Therefore, it is necessary that students who want to study at a Ukrainian medical university must physically relocate to Ukraine.
  • Online studies are not recognised by any of the world’s Dental Council.
  • All Dental Councils evaluate the evidence of studies, which includes online studies when dentistry graduates apply for registration:
    • If a student completed online studies during Covid-19 they should have a detailed explanation prepared, including evidence and exception documentation, which they can provide upon request.

+ Admission to Zaporizhzhia State Medical University
Applicants must provide the following information:
  1. An application which includes the following details: bio, education history and course for which you are applying.
  2. A copy of your secondary education results with subjects studied.
  3. Documents from your home country confirming that you are authorised to study in Ukraine.
  4. Two small photos of 4-5cm.
All documents need to be translated into Ukrainian to satisfy state directives.
+ Is Graduate Entry Offered?
  • Graduate entry is not permitted in Ukraine since local medical universities refuse to acknowledge non-Ukrainian bachelor’s degrees due to the differences in the syllabus of the dentistry course and the foreign Bachelor’s degree. As a result, the Ukrainian dental transcript cannot include the modules that have been studied in a BSc degree.
