What is the Higher Education Degree Accreditation Standard for Degrees for a Medicine Programme Studied in Serbia

Domestically, degrees from higher education institutions in Serbia are accredited by the NEAQA (National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance) which has associations with the EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education). The NEAQA periodically evaluates and ensures consistent quality of education which in turn, ensures consistent degree quality from all Serbian Higher Education Institutions. Its primary goal is to ensure you will graduate as a well-trained, well-educated medical professional. To fulfil this goal, the NEAQA, as part of its regular evaluation, will look for ways to improve teaching and research methods, with innovation and consistency being part of the mindset that keeps the quality of education effective and up to date.

Why is the Medicine Study Programme Offered in Serbia Highly Regarded

All higher education institutions are regulated by the NEAQA with accreditation coming from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia which is recognised in most countries. A significant force behind maintaining the quality of education for both Serbian and foreign Medical Students who decide to study and work in Serbia is the introduction of English-taught integrated studies programmes. There is a big benefit to offering English-taught programmes, it makes it easier to obtain work in other countries as well as allowing the methods of teaching to be compared to other medical programmes around the world, providing a benchmark on the quality of education.

What are the International Study Options for Medicine Students in Serbia

It’s expected then that a graduate of a Serbian Medical University will have the opportunity to work in many different countries ever since the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development signed and ratified bilateral agreements with many countries such as the UK and the USA to allow Serbian Medical University graduates to live and work with a recognised degree in the country of their choice. Graduates who wish to practice in a country of their choice must first go through any assessments and/or applications if made necessary by the governing bodies associated with each country’s respective Ministry of Health (ex. GMC, ACGME).
