New Regulations for Medical Council Registration
In September 2019, the law for recognition of medical degrees in the UK and the USA has changed.
Graduate Entry
- Graduate entry medical programs recognize only specific subjects from your BSc degree.
- There is a minimum of 4 years required for a graduate programme in order to be recognized by the Medical Councils.
Transfers
- A maximum of only two transcripts from previous Medical Schools is recognized by the Medical Councils.
- The completion of all clinical subjects must have taken place in the graduating school with a minimum study period of 3 years.
Students have to be very cautious of so-called ‘companies’ and ‘universities’ that offer hopes of completing medical degrees in less than the aforementioned period without having the least minimum number of clinical subjects. It would be a shame, after years of hard work, the only thing you can do is frame your degree!
