Study in Bulgaria after BREXIT

Bulgarian Universities have announced that British students who desire to study in Bulgaria in 2021 will be required to issue a Type D Student Visa as the rest of the Non-EU students. The application fee at the Bulgarian Consulate in London is £89 and the documents needed can be found HERE. The process takes up to 3 months and students are required to visit the Consulate in person.

Bulgarian Universities require students to sit for a Biology and Chemistry exam, applicants will then be ranked according to their A Level grades achieved along with their test results. From the October 2021 intake onwards, British students will participate in the ranking list allocated to all Non-EU students which is approximately 50 places per university compared to the EU list which is currently 250-300 places per university.

Students that are interested in applying for the October 2021 intake will be required to submit an application as soon as possible due to the application deadlines being pushed to earlier dates. Please note that students also have the option to apply for medical schools based in Georgia or Serbia where a student visa is not required.
