SME students’ relocation to Sumy State University a big Success

As with each autumn, the last couple of months SME has been busy with organizing the relocation of students to their respective cities. On October 20th, Sumy State University welcomed SME students from the UK, USA, Canada and Ireland.

SME students were greeted at Boryspil International Airport in Kiev by the SME local team and taken by coach to Shafran Hotel in downtown Sumy to unwind after their journey. A briefing was held to explain the itinerary for the days ahead. During the briefing, real estate agents were on hand to discuss each students’ preferences regarding accommodation. The local support team aided all students in viewing apartments, negotiated the rent fee with landlords, translated the rental agreements in English, and explained to students how to pay their bills. Everything that a student needs to make the transition as smooth as possible.

The following day, students were escorted to the University for the Registration Process and then they were assisted with the opening of their bank account. All students were offered SIM cards and they received assistance in obtaining Internet access. Students also had to do the necessary medical examinations before they escorted to the Ukrainian Migration Service to get their Residence Permit cards.

A Networking Event was held on the 6th of November at the University so that students could meet their new classmates. Current students were also there to provide info on everything from where to eat, where the best shopping is, study tips etc.

SME wishes the new students all the best in their future endeavors.
