New Regulations for Medical Council Registration

New Regulations for Medical Council Registration

In September 2019, the law for recognition of medical degrees in the UK and the USA has changed.

Graduate Entry

  • Graduate entry medical programs recognize only specific subjects from your BSc degree.
  • There is a minimum of 4 years required for a graduate programme in order to be recognized by the Medical Councils.

Transfers

  • A maximum of only two transcripts from previous Medical Schools is recognized by the Medical Councils.
  • The completion of all clinical subjects must have taken place in the graduating school with a minimum study period of 3 years.

Students have to be very cautious of so-called ‘companies’ and ‘universities’ that offer hopes of completing medical degrees in less than the aforementioned period without having the least minimum number of clinical subjects. It would be a shame, after years of hard work, the only thing you can do is frame your degree!
