The 4-Year Graduate Entry Programme

Candidates with a science-related Bachelor’s Degree can choose to study partially in England using this option.
Pre-Clinical Years- During the first year, students study at the Derby NVU dentistry campus.
- Students complete preclinical modules on-campus with lectures and seminars using research laboratories, digital annexes and teaching spaces, and dentistry equipment.
- During the final three years, students complete clinical modules in dental practices and clinics to gain proficiency in dental procedures and surgeries.
- Additional clinical practice will take place during the summer periods.
- The dentistry training is comprehensive and prepares students for all aspects of dentistry procedures and surgeries.
Holders of Bachelor’s degrees in science-related fields looking for flexible dental courses can choose to study partially online.
Pre-Clinical Years- Students can complete online the first year of the course.
- Students will watch live-streamed videos of classes from their British and Georgian professors and ask questions live via interactive teaching platforms.
- A Question Bank is used to answer questions after having studied the theoretical parts of the modules.
- The majority of the exams will take be held online and will be comprised of MCQs and Open Questions.
- For the last three years of the programme, students study clinical modules comprising of lectures and all dental clinical training in Georgian dental clinics and practices.
- Additional clinical practice will take place during the summer periods.

What are the On-Campus Study Options?

- Graduate dentistry students will study at the New Vision University UK campus in the second half of 2022.
- The 44,000 sq. ft. building NVU have secured in Derby will be converted to a modern dentistry and medicine campus with teaching and seminar spaces and training equipment.
- Dentistry students will commence on-campus in late 2022.
- Students have the option to study at the UK Campus for up to the first year.

Dental Council Requirements for Recognising Dentistry Degrees

- Many of the world’s Medical Councils require that the Medical School that awarded the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) be listed on the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDMS).
- Additionally, each region has its own requirements:
- UK: The General Dental Council (GDC) specifies a minimum of 1,600 hours of clinical experience which comprise hours spent completing appropriate investigations and/or administering dental treatment and not the time spent observing dentists or assisting other dentists/dental students.
